By Nicola Tooke Hundreds of cuddly toys have been donated to the Wingate Centre thanks to generous Nantwich residents and workers. Staff and residents at Richmond Village Nantwich spearheaded the collection, which was boosted by employees at Sainsbury’s in Nantwich, local Cat Radio and Nantwich Police Station.
Hundreds of cuddly toys have been donated to Richmond Village Nantwich in aid of the Wingate Centre in Wrenbury. Richmond Village, off London Road, joined forces with the town’s Sainsbury’s store on Middlewich Road to launch the toy appeal.
Crowds of people visited Richmond Village in Nantwich to enjoy a traditional Christmas Fayre Craft stalls tempted visitors to buy Christmas gifts, while pupils from Stapeley Broad Lane and Nantwich Young Voices serenaded visitors with Christmas carols around the Christmas tree.
Nantwich-based The Cat radio station is launching its Community Awards – 2012 scheme. The awards are designed to recognise the people from Crewe and Nantwich who dedicate their time to support all aspects of local life.
Two Welsh Row venues will be laying on a treat for customers at this weekend’s Nantwich Food and Drink Festival.
The Cheshire Cat and Firenze bars and restaurants are running events including a Chilean Wine and Tapas evening.
Nantwich-based radio station The Cat has been awarded a £2,000 grant from the Co-Operative Group’s Community Fund. Crewe & Nantwich Community Radio Society, which operates as The Cat from its two studios in Nantwich, received the cheque from the Co-Operative Local Area Committee, representing the North West and North Midlands Region.
