I am furious and deeply alarmed by Harworth Group Plc’s outrageous proposal to construct a sprawling housing development – deceitfully named ‘Crewe West’- on the precious green fields of Wistaston, not Crewe as they so conveniently suggest.
A Wistaston man who has dedicated more than half a century to the Scouts has been honoured with an MBE.
Michael Bennion was included in the King’s New Year’s Honours for 54 years of service to the movement.

Each day more and more residents are finding out that Winter Gritting is being cut from some of our rural and semi-rural roads.
They are only now realising how that will affect them and they are expressing their feelings of displeasure and outrage at this decision, taken recently, by Cheshire East’s Labour/Independent administration.

The Wistaston Singers were in fine voice when they performed at a Christmas Carol concert at St Stephen’s Methodist Church in Crewe.
Phil Houghton was musical director and organist and also introduced each carol and soloist. Jane Hale was the accompanist.

The annual ‘Holly Fair’ at Wells Green Methodist Church in Wistaston raised more than £2,000.
Scores of people came together to organise the traditional November event at the church on Brooklands Avenue.
