The boss of a Nantwich firm helped youngsters have their cake and eat it at a business enterprise day.
Martyn Kinch, Vice President International Sales for the ILX Group based in Nantwich, was invited in to bid for cakes produced by school pupils during the day.
He also offered valuable feedback to the budding entrepreneurs who conjured up culinary creations at South Cheshire College.
The students, from years 10 and 11, worked in teams and had to design and create their own cake product and sell it for a profit.
They had to be imaginative and decorate as many cakes as they could in a race again the clock before displaying them ready to sell.
Martyn said: “I was very impressed by the standard of work that the pupils had produced.
“Events like this are very important because they encourage the development of local young people and we want to keep skilled people in the area.”
Jon Clark, head of the business, hospitality, leisure and tourism, was delighted with the event.
Jon said: “All the teams who took part deserve a great deal of credit for the energy they put into the day.
“It gives pupils at local high schools the opportunity to take part in a live business event.”
