Nantwich Sainsbury’s store has said farewell to French students Chloe Chopin and Ninon Raymond at the end of their placements.
The youngsters enjoyed five weeks of experience at the Middlewich Road store, and proved a hit with colleagues and shoppers.
Chloe and Ninon study at the P.A. Chabanne Vocational School in Chasseneuil, which has an agreement with Sainsbury’s to offer retail experience to students. This programme has been running for four years.
Sainsbury’s spokeswoman Olwyn Payton said: “Chloe and Ninon have proved to be excellent workers and were even commended by the company’s ‘mystery shopper’.”
They have had accommodation and meals at Regent’s Park, off London Road, and have spent their free time socialising with colleagues and Nantwich residents.
Ninon enjoyed her time in Nantwich so much she has applied for a paid temporary position in the summer, and has been successful.
“This programme has proved to be very rewarding for both the students and their colleagues at the supermarket,” added Olwyn.
The French college is hoping to send more students for work experience in 2013 and is looking for local businesses to participate.
