A Nantwich community choir has received a cash boost to kit its members out in funky new t-shirts!
Members of faith-based TheFunkyChoir.com have received funding from local housing provider Wulvern.
As well as singing for fun, the “not-for-profit” choir aims is to raise money for community groups and charities in a number of ways including public performances.
In May the choir raised over £850 for Parkinsons UK.
Three members are Parkinsons sufferers and medical evidence exists to show their condition benefits from singing in the choir.
Founder Brent Robinson said: “Thanks to Wulvern, the Funky Choir will be more visual as well as vocal!
“The choir is growing in both confidence and numbers. We have several events planned in the forthcoming months and the t-shirts will help us be recognised, and hopefully raise much-needed cash for local charities.”
The choir meets every Thursday at Regents Park, off London Road, Nantwich, between 7.45pm and 9.45pm.
Ceris Esplen, Wulvern marketing and partnerships, said: ““Research shows singing can have a healthy effect on mind, body and soul.
“It makes us better, and makes us feel better – we should all be doing more of it! We are delighted several of our customers have already joined the choir and would encourage more to do so.”
