Nantwich is set to be packed out when it stages the annual fete and Skoolzfest tomorrow (July 2).
The event is a joint initiative between Nantwich Education Partnership which embraces the local schools, and St Mary’s Church.
Hundreds of youngsters will be in the town square for Skoolzfest, which celebrates the achievements and abilities of all Nantwich’s children from 16 schools.
A range of musical performances will take place on a covered stage on the square from 10am.
These will include the ‘Big Sing’ when a large number of children from different primary schools form a community choir.
Other primary school singing and orchestral performances will take place in the morning.
And the afternoon sees the traditional Battle of the Bands event, when performers from secondary schools take the stage in an X Factor-style competition.
There will also be a display of artwork in Nantwich Museum, and a Poetry Grand Slam in the Church.
The museum will display the artistic talents of school children, and this year’s exhibition in the Millennium Gallery is themed ‘Faith, Hope and Charity’, linked to the Syrian refugee crisis.
The exhibition, which features mixed media work, runs until Saturday July 16. Admission to the museum and exhibition is free.
For the more athletic, there is the Big Swim taking place at Nantwich Pool in Wall Lane.
Skoolzfest was originally conceived as a fund raising event for the church restoration appeal and is now in its fourth year.
There will be a kid’s funfair, candy floss and popcorn and a range of entertainments such as Punch and Judy, Coconut Shy and other games.
There will also be a range of stalls selling home made produce and books, and a tombola.
