Storm Aileen blew through South Cheshire overnight, causing trees to fall and roads to flood.
But Nantwich and surrounding areas escaped lightly with little structural damage, says Cheshire East Council.
A fallen tree has closed Chorlton Lane in Chorlton, near Crewe.
Cheshire East Highways are attending the incident and hope to open the road later.
A Cheshire East spokesman said: “Highways teams have cleared a number of fallen trees during the night but the borough appears to have escaped the scale of damage which has occurred in other parts of the country.”
Goostrey Lane, Goostrey and Salters Lane, Siddington have both been reopened after highways teams cleared fallen trees from the road.
The A533 Booth Lane between Middlewich and Sandbach remains partly flooded owing to a burst water main.
United Utilities are attending and highways have set up diversions.
Motorists are advised to take extra care as there may be debris on roads and surface water.
