Offenders in Cheshire have put in more than 72,000 hours of work as part of the community payback scheme in the last six months, figures have shown.

People sentenced to unpaid work in Cheshire have clocked up 72,333 hours Community Payback across the county, completing a range of projects to improve communities.

Staff and students at Cheshire College – South & West have celebrated A Level and AS Level results with an overall pass rate of 99.7% – more than 2% above the national pass rate.

Top results were achieved across a range of subjects, especially in Archaeology, Geology and German with 100% of students achieving A*, A, or B grades.

And it has emerged that Brookfield House Care Home, on Shrewbridge Road, is now the centre of a police and local authority investigation into allegations of neglect.

The family of a motorcyclist who was killed in a collision in Worleston, Nantwich, have released a heartfelt tribute.

Father-of-three William (Billy) Flynn, 55, from Winsford, was killed after a collision between a grey Toyota Aygo and a black and red Yamaha FZS on the B5074, Main Road.
