Nantwich News contributor Jonathan White has been out and about capturing on camera some of the fancy festive light displays across Crewe and Nantwich.
Families have pushed the boat out to cheer us up with inflatable decorations and light shows on homes and businesses.
“Their electricity bills must be sky high, but they never fail to bring a smile to my face!” said Jonathan.
“My favourites in Nantwich are in Barony Road, Byron Walk, Queens Drive, Volunteer Fields, Welsh Row, and
“Richmond Village Nantwich. There are also excellent lights in the town centre courtesy of Nantwich Town Council.
“My favourite in Willaston is in Derwent Close.
“My favourites in Wistaston are in Lear Drive, Merrivale Road, Milne Close, Milton Drive, Rope Bank Avenue, Shelley Drive, Swift Close, Teal Way, and Westfield Drive (say hello to the gnomes!)
“My favourites in Shavington are on Main Road and Burlea Drive, along with the Advent Window Trail around the village.
“My most favourite Christmas houses this year in Crewe are located in Alton Street, Carlisle Street, Davenport Avenue, Gatefield Street, Jesmond Crescent, Kemble Close, Manor Way, Marple Crescent, Melford Close, Moreton Road, Ravenscroft Road, Salisbury Avenue, Vincent Street, along with the Christmas tree at Oxley’s Funeral Services on Market Close.
“Congratulations to Crewe Town Council for the Christmas trees and lights at various locations in the town centre.”
Jonathan also reserved a special mention to the ‘Weston Christmas Light Display’ which takes place at Carters Green Farm, Jack Lane, Weston, near Crewe every day in December until 28th December 2020 (6.15pm to 9pm).
Due to Government COVID restrictions, this year’s event is a drive-thru event, so visitors can enjoy the Starlit Garden from the safety of their own car.
For the eighth consecutive year the event is raising money for The Donna Louise Hospice for Children & Young People.
To visit the display if heading from Crewe turn right off Weston Road (just after Crewe Hall) into Main Road towards Weston, then left into Jack Lane.
If heading from Weston go over the A500 bypass bridge on Main Road and turn right in Jack Lane.
From all directions look out for the local AA road traffic signs, then follow the directional one-way arrows on Jack Lane.
