Developers have unveiled plans for a 72-bedroom specialist dementia care home in Shavington.
The plans are for land off Gresty Road, close to the roundabout with Jack Mills Way, led by Liberty Care Developments and Anavo.
If approved by Cheshire East Council, developers say it will create 70 full-time equivalent local jobs and an investment of £14 million.
Andrew Baddeley, Managing Director of Liberty Care Developments, said: “We are thrilled to announce our plans for Crewe, currently there is a significant undersupply of modern standard care homes, the need for these types of facilities will increase due to an ageing population and people living longer.
“We believe this scheme will significantly improve the quality offer of care accommodation in the area.
“The proposal will deliver high-quality 24-hour care for local elderly residents who can no longer safely live in their own homes.
“With registered nurses on site and a retained GP, the development will help ease pressures on existing GP surgeries and hospitals.”
Liberty Care Developments submitted its application in September 2020 and Shavington-cum-Gresty Parish
Council backed the plans during their October 2020 meeting.
Cheshire East Council will determine the application, with a decision expected to be made in the coming
weeks.
The planning application can be viewed on the Council’s website, using the application reference 20/4113N.
