Staff and children at Weaver Primary in Nantwich are celebrating the completion of their new look school building.
The work, completed just before Christmas and seven weeks ahead of schedule, means all pupils can now be accommodated in the maim building and not in mobile classrooms.
Gill Price, Weaver Primary headteacher, said: “The new interior allows us to educate our pupils in a space fit for 21st century education.
“The new layout is spacious and light and gives us seven enclosed classrooms with breakout spaces outside the classrooms, two new intervention rooms and a medical room.
“The children and staff are delighted with their ‘new school’.
“The contractors have listened to our requirements and worked closely with staff to ensure that learning spaces are suited to each cohort.
“We have waited many years to have the mobile classrooms removed and now that they have gone, we have a virtually brand new school replacing them. I am delighted with the result.”
In its recent OFSTED inspection, Weaver was praised for creating an inclusive and welcoming school where pupils are happy and keen to learn.
Charlotte Johnson, deputy headteacher, added: “It is lovely to have the Weaver team all in the same building, enabling staff to collaborate and share expertise more easily.
“It really has made a difference to how we work in school.”
Aaron Cain, construction site manager from Faircloughs, handed the keys over to Mrs Price along with Jacky Forster, director for education and Andrew Cliffe, chair of governors.
