READER’S LETTER: Crewe shoppers “ripped off” over car park charges

READER’S LETTER: Crewe shoppers “ripped off” over car park charges

Dear Editor,
Crewe shoppers and visitors are being exploited and ripped off by the Labour run Cheshire East Council on car park charges.

Crewe pays the highest parking fees in Cheshire East but in NINE other towns (Sandbach, Alsager, Middlewich, Handforth, Prestbury, Poynton, Bollington, Disley and Holmes Chapel) motorists pay NOTHING to park.

READER’S LETTER: Help those who can’t see as lockdown eases

Dear Editor
With lockdown restrictions easing, there is an understandable buzz of excitement in the air as people head outside to see loved ones and enjoy the warmer weather.

But we are hearing from many blind and partially sighted people who are anxious about public spaces becoming busier and have lost confidence in going outside after a year of Covid restrictions.

Dear Editor,
Last week, the first national pilot of a dual use Covid-19 testing site rolled into action in Cheshire East, on the Chester Street car park in Crewe.

Those without symptoms who need a test can book and attend in the mornings (getting their results in as little as half an hour!)

READER’S LETTER: Restore damaged grass verges in Crewe

Dear Editor,
I would like to thank Ben Wye for publicising the policy of ‘Putting Crewe First’ on grass verges. (Letters 31/3/21)

Our policy is “Restore the very many damaged grass verges and protect them. Or turn them into hard standing to provide more off street parking. Residents will be allowed to choose what they want.”

READER’S LETTER: Cheshire East staff “deserve to be appreciated”

Dear Editor,

Questions were raised at last week’s Audit and Governance meeting about how inclusive the 3 day’s Health and Welfare leave granted to Cheshire East’s staff, in acknowledgment of the pressure of work they have coped with during the Covid period, has been.

READER’S LETTER: No improvement over Wistaston pedestrian safety fears

Dear Editor,
In January 2021 and December and August 2020, I wrote a letter to Nantwich News raising my concerns for the safety of pedestrians on the busy Wistaston Green Road in Wistaston, due to the obstructions and narrowing of the path and its degraded road surface adjacent to the Bellway ‘Kingfisher Reach’ housing development construction site.

READER’S LETTER: Wrenbury teacher “ray of light” during Covid gloom

Dear Editor,
I live in Wrenbury and run a travel company – irrelevant to this email in some respects, but also not based on the fact that my industry and many others are in a terrible situation and many people in general are battling, life is tough and all doom and gloom in the news.

READER’S LETTER: Cars on grass verges cause “unsightly mess”

Dear Editor,
Many grass verges in Crewe have been cut to pieces by vehicles parking on them or driving over them.

They are an unsightly mess. A blot on the landscape.
