Full closure of A530 Middlewich Road until October, CEC confirms
There will be a “full closure” of the A530 Middlewich Road between Pyms Lane and Smithy Lane from May to October, Cheshire East Council has confirmed.
The closure is one of many disruptions facing motorists as work begins on the North West Crewe Package (NWCP) scheme over the next two years.

Cheshire East Council’s change from cabinet to committee has seen the end of a system which brought “ignominy to this council, with police investigations into some decisions”, a councillor said.
Councillors from all parties agreed the committee system, which replaced the cabinet system in May last year, had so far been successful.

The “3 Men and a Furrow” 24-hour vintage tractor ploughathon involved three friends – Ian Bulkeley, Fred Mottram and Gary Walker.

Figures obtained by the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) through Freedom of Information (FOI) reveal the council pays for 887 children to go to school by taxi at an approximate cost of £231,959.67 per week.
