Cllr Norma Simpson (pictured) had served as a Conservative councillor, representing the South Ward, for the town since 2007.

Cheshire East Council enforcement teams are dealing with another illegal traveller encampment on Barony Park in Nantwich.
The travellers arrived yesterday afternoon (July 6), three weeks after a previous group left following a week-long stay on the park and nearby Volunteer Fields which involved two court applications.

A plant which will turn food and green waste into compost is set to be built near Leighton Hospital after councillors gave it the go-ahead.
Biowise has been given planning permission to build the plant on land off Middlewich Road – just 1.3km away from the hospital, and 500m away from the nearest homes.

Ham-fisted highways workers have filled in two potholes in Nantwich – along with most of the drainage covers next to them!

Sue Wallace, a former HR officer from Connah’s Quay, took the case against Cheshire East Council after she was dismissed in December 2016.
