A plant which will turn food and green waste into compost is set to be built near Leighton Hospital after councillors gave it the go-ahead.
Biowise has been given planning permission to build the plant on land off Middlewich Road – just 1.3km away from the hospital, and 500m away from the nearest homes.
Ham-fisted highways workers have filled in two potholes in Nantwich – along with most of the drainage covers next to them!

Councillors are urging Cheshire East Council not to go ahead with unpopular plans to charge up to £35 for replacement wheelie bins.
The local authority revealed plans to introduce charges for new and replacement bins in its budget for 2018-19.
Cheshire East Council chiefs have approved a £6 million care fund earmarked for proposals – but maintaining sustainability of the schemes remains an “ongoing challenge”.
