Students at a Nantwich school were given a taste of life in dozens of different industries at a careers day. Employers from a wide range of professions were invited to Brine Leas School to take part in its annual Careers Convention.
Nantwich families can enjoy twice the fun if they visit the town’s Reaseheath College in March. Preparations are in hand for the college’s popular lambing events and the campus zoo will also be open to the public on the first two weekends in March.
A development of up to 1,100 houses, businesses, shops and a possible school in Nantwich has been approved by Cheshire East Council. The plan is for land at Kingsley Fields and was put forward by the North West Nantwich Consortium, including Reaseheath College and Mosaic Estates.
Nantwich animal care students went “orange” to help save one of the world’s most endangered apes. The Reaseheath College students dressed in orange during fund raising activities for the “Go Orange for Orangutans” campaign.
Food technology students from Nantwich wowed industry experts with a range of new healthy children’s meals for supermarkets. Eleven final year Reaseheath College students developed chilled ready meals suitable for a new Tesco range.
Malbank School in Nantwich is host an FA Tesco Skills football programme for boys and girls aged 5-11. Laura Woodcock, FA Skills coach for the Nantwich area, is now running mixed and girls only sessions.
An app launched by a Nantwich firm to help teachers register their pupils, has won a prestigious MobileWebAward. The “Reggie” was awarded “Outstanding Mobile App” and now sits alongside other winners such as Google, Orange, E! Online, Volkswagen and Gucci.
