Nantwich rural schools are becoming over-subscribed but a new primary school which should have opened in September 2024 and was delayed for a year still hasn’t been built.
Planning permission was granted in June 2023 for the new 210-pupil Kingsbourne Academy on the Kingsley Fields development.
The headteacher of Stapeley Broad Lane C of E Primary School has hailed a “fantastic” report after their latest Ofsted inspection.
The school, part of the Cornovii Trust, has been praised by Ofsted for the ‘exemplary’ behaviour of pupils, a ‘broad and ambitious’ curriculum and ‘exceptional’ efforts in supporting pupil personal development.

Cheshire East Council believes it will have slashed its school transport costs by more than £3m by the end of the financial year.
But they have hired Edge Consultants at a cost of £733,000 to help it bring down the cost of transporting children and young people to school.
