Wistaston to hold Cancer Research UK Xmas Fair

The 66th “Cancer Research UK Xmas Fair” takes place at Wistaston Memorial Hall on Church Lane on Saturday November 19 from 10am to 3pm.

Children will be able to visit Father Christmas (£4 per child) and receive a present from him.

Members of Wistaston Swans WI have hand-painted 350 pebbles to commemorate Poppy Day.

The pebbles are now on display on the low black ledge at the front and both sides of Wistaston Memorial Hall on Church Lane.

Wistaston has won at the ‘Britain in Bloom’ (North West) awards for the fourth year in succession.

Wistaston in Bloom won their fourth ‘Gold Award 2022 in the Town Category’, whilst Wistaston Conservation Group once again won a ‘2022 It’s Your Neighbourhood Award of Level 5 – Outstanding’ for the Joey the Swan parkland in Wistaston.

Two men have been arrested by police investigating an aggravated burglary at a house in Wistaston.

A 20-year-old man and a 37-year-old man from Crewe were arrested yesterday (September 14) on suspicion of aggravated burglary following he incident on Rope Lane.

The 25th Community Duck Race and Children’s Model Boat Race made its return to Joey the Swan recreation ground in Wistaston.

The event was opened by Wistaston Rose Queen Emily Edge. The 11-year-old was crowned by Revd Mike Turnbull at St Mary’s Church, Wistaston in June.

Ann, a learning mentor at Cheshire College – South & West,  participated in the event at Chatsworth House a year after the original event was postponed due to the pandemic.
