By Nicola Tooke The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee was celebrated at Richmond Village Nantwich when residents, guests and staff held a street party. More than 100 people dressed in red white, and blue with The Cat Radio and award-winning Foden’s Brass Band providing the music.
A Diamond Jubilee Variety Concert will take place tomorrow (June 2) in Wistaston Memorial Hall, Church Lane, Wistaston. The concert features a host of performers including The Grove Singers, Jack Gresty and his trumpet, and a monologue by Tim Lloyd.
Richmond Village in Nantwich is staging a traditional street party on Saturday June 2 as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. It will be one of dozens of similar events throughout the town and surrounding villages over the next four five days.
A Spring Plant and Book Sale organised by Nantwich Museum Trust will take place at the Pillory Street venue tomorrow (May 26). The sale, which will run from 10am to 12.30pm, will include a wide selection of plants and books for sale in aid of museum funds.

Council chiefs have welcomed the move to bring Chris Evans’ CarFest North to Cholmondeley Castle, near Nantwich. Thousands are expected to attend the festival of cars, music and food in the castle grounds on September 8 and 9.

A ‘Strictly Learn to Dance’ finale in aid of St Luke’s Hospice Cheshire is set to take place in Nantwich Civic Hall in two weeks. Fourteen couples have been learning to dance for the last 13 weeks, including moves such as the waltz and the cha cha.
Celebrities will be on show at Nantwich Town’s Weaver Stadium for a charity football match tomorrow (April 29). The Once Upon A Smile (OUAS) charity game will feature actors from TV soaps including Hollyoaks, Eastenders, Emmerdale, Shameless and more.
