The Lady Verdin Trust has presented its first “personal progress” award to a Nantwich man. Ian Lightfoot receives a City & Guilds award for adults with learning disabilities.
Thousands braved the snow and ice to watch the annual “Battle of Nantwich” spectacular played out in the town. And this year, the town centre was packed with other activities to keep the crowds entertained before the march and battle re-enactment.

The Nantwich Jazz, Blues and Music Festival will help to relaunch one of the town’s most iconic venues. And festival organisers have secured UK jazz pioneer Courtney Pine to headline the special Gregory’s relaunch concert on March 28.
A Battle of Nantwich exhibition has opened in the Community Gallery at Nantwich Museum. And the display will whet the appetite for this weekend’s Holly Holy Day event – the re-enactment of the 1644 Battle of Nantwich.
Nantwich Choral Society is singing for joy after scooping an £8,000 Arts Council grant. It will help the group, which includes more than 100 members from across Cheshire, stage its most ambitious production to date – J S Bach’s St Matthew Passion.
