School children from Wistaston left their mark on history as they buried a time capsule at the village’s new housing development for future generations to discover.
Pupils aged 5 to 11 from Wistaston Church Lane Academy put a variety of objects in the capsule, from popular toys like Lego, a squishy and slime to a school uniform, coins, letters to their future selves.
Nantwich Museum is to stage two local history courses in the autumn.
“The Civil Wars in Cheshire” re-runs last year’s successful course, beginning 7pm Wednesdays from October 16 and ending Wednesday November 13.

An English Amputee Football Association U23 Invitational Tournament took place at Reaseheath College in Nantwich.
The international event saw three countries – England, Poland and Turkey – battle it out in the first-ever amputee football U23s competition.
Nantwich Town have signed defender Josh Langley after impressing as a trialist in the Dabbers’ opening pre-season games.
Langley joins the club after spending most of last season with Southport, and then on loan at both Altrincham and Guiseley.

The boss of a Nantwich salon has warned other outlets in the town after an attempted distraction theft by two men.
The incident happened at the Coco beauty salon on Mill Street when two men described as “foreign” in appearance entered the store.
