Stapeley businesswoman Laura Smith has been selected as Labour parliamentary candidate to fight for the Crewe and Nantwich seat in June.
The 32-year-old was selected by the Labour group ahead of the party’s 2015 candidate Adrian Heald.
Edward Timpson has been formerly re-adopted by the Conservative Party to bid for the Crewe & Nantwich seat in June’s General Election.
Mr Timpson will be looking to secure his third election victory in the constituency.

Nantwich Town Council is to have a Labour councillor for the first time in many years.
Douglas Bowyer-Bates, a Labour party candidate, polled 1,240 votes to secure one of seven seats representing Nantwich North & West on the town council.
Zoe Van Cauter is just 18 years old. Tomorrow she will be standing for election to Cheshire East Council.

Candidates battling for election to Nantwich Town Council have been announced.
Twelve councillors in all will be voted in on May 7 – seven to represent Nantwich and West Ward, and five to represent Nantwich South.
