Leighton Hospital bosses have bought land next to the existing site in their next step to developing a major new hospital campus.
The areas of land, which surrounds the current hospital, will become part of the new Leighton site (pictured).

Cheshire East is still looking into how much privately-owned green land it has been maintaining at the council tax payers’ expense – but says a report is due next month.
The council’s environment and communities committee was told in October last year the authority had been maintaining 547 parcels of land not registered as being owned by the council.

A piece of land near a Shavington school has become an overgrown wilderness – because Cheshire East Council did not realise they owned it!
Grass on the site outside Shavington Primary Academy on Southbank Avenue is about five feet tall and overgrown with weeds.
