A public open day is being held in Nantwich to unveil the planned £200,000 restoration of Nantwich Aqueduct, on the Shropshire Union Canal.
The 10-week project is due to start at the end of March and will involve the temporary closure of the A534 Chester Road which runs underneath the aqueduct.
Budding young entrepreneurs at a Nantwich school enjoyed a taste of life in the retail world. Pupils at Wyche Primary and Nursery School took a hands-on approach to learning about business and enterprise.
Nantwich residents are to receive a reduction in their council tax bill from the town council in 2014-15. Town councillors have approved plans to drop the Nantwich precept by 5.9%.
Santa made an early appearance when he turned up at the Regents Park Christmas Market in Nantwich. The fair was opened by MP for Crewe and Nantwich Edward Timpson and featured stalls selling items such as quality handmade gifts, cards and home-made preserves.
Nantwich Town Council has agreed to take on the town’s Civic Centre and indoor and outdoor markets from April 2012. Town councillors also voted to take charge of public toilets in the market, on Barony Park and Snow Hill car park.
