It has taken a while but the Borough Council have done an excellent job in restoring and improving ‘the Promenade’ – that area of paving overlooking the old mill race, opposite the Castle Court flats on Waterlode, near the footway to Mill Island.

Thousands of people enjoyed another spectacular Battle of Nantwich ‘Holly Holy Day’ English Civil War re-enactment.
The event took place in and around Nantwich town centre and on Mill Island yesterday (Saturday January 27).
Activities begin at 10am today (January 27) for the annual Battle of Nantwich re-enactment.
There are general activities around the town centre between 10am and 12.45pm.

The town is gearing up for one its busiest days of the year later this month when The Battle of Nantwich re-enactment takes place.
This year the “Holly Holy Day” event takes place on Saturday January 27 in and around Nantwich town centre and on Mill Island.
Organisers of the Battle of Nantwich Holly Holy Day event are calling for volunteers to come forward and help.
The event, held every January, is arguably one of the biggest single-day events held by the town.
Police and air ambulance are at the scene of a road accident in Nantwich believed to involve a young child.
The incident has happened along Queen’s Drive close to the junction with Dorfold Drive and Riverside.

Nantwich is set to host the annual “Battle of Nantwich” re-enactment once again on January 21.
The “Holly Holy Day” celebration marks the 1644 Battle in the town, which proved to be one of the key events in the English Civil War between the Royalists and Parliamentarians.
A new project launched by Nantwich Mill Community Energy Company aims to generate clean and green energy for the town – come rain or shine.
The not-for-profit Community Benefit Society has been awarded £100,000 by the North West Energy Hub’s Rural Community Energy Fund.
A new seating feature has been installed and unveiled on Mill Island in Nantwich.
Mayor of Nantwich Cllr Stuart Bostock visited Mill Island to take a look at the new seating feature.

The annual ‘Battle of Nantwich & Winter Fayre’ has been cancelled by the Covid pandemic, organisers have confirmed.
The Holly Holy Day annual event normally takes place on the final weekend of January, and is one of the biggest one-day events in the town.
