Cheshire East Council has scrapped plans to consult on proposals to axe or reduce its CCTV service.
But the authority is to ask Cheshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner and other partners to help fund it.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak finally confirmed the worst kept secret today – that phase 2a of HS2 between Birmingham and Crewe will be scrapped.
The decision will sparked mixed reaction across the political divide and among business leaders in Cheshire East with many fearing it will deal a blow to the local economy.

Plans to introduce parking charges in towns where it is currently free, have been controversially scrapped by Cheshire East Council.
If approved, charges would have been introduced in Middlewich, Alsager, Holmes Chapel, Sandbach and other towns in line with Nantwich, Crewe, and Macclesfield.
