Marbury Merry Days will return this spring for its 45th year with a weekend of traditional entertainment, living history and family activities.
The two-day country fair will take place on May 9th and 10th in a picturesque field next to St Michael & All Angels Parish Church and the scenic Marbury Big Mere near Wrenbury.

Thousands of people visited Nantwich as the town marked the 53rd annual Battle of Nantwich ‘Holly Holy Day’ English Civil War re-enactment.

St Mary’s Church in Acton is stepping back in time to honour the historic Battle of Nantwich with a series of events this Saturday January 24th.
They are running to coincide with the popular Holly Holy Day celebrations and the Sealed Knot’s parade and battle re-enactment in Nantwich.

Next year’s battle will take place on Saturday 24th January and will see Sealed Knot soldiers once again re-enact the 1644 battle in style.

Activities took place during the day at St Mary’s Acton, St Mary’s Nantwich, Nantwich Museum, Pillory Street pillory, and the town square.

The town is gearing up for the annual “Battle of Nantwich” Holly Holy Day event which takes place on Saturday January 25.
The Sealed Knot troops will gather to re-enact the original battle which took place in 1644, marking the end of the siege of the town during the English Civil War.

The annual Holly Holy Day re-enactment takes place on Saturday 25th January.
Richmond Villages Nantwich has been named as headline sponsor for the annual Battle of Nantwich re-enactment.
The event, to take place on January 25, draws thousands of visitors each year.

Colin, who died recently of a heart attack, aged 83, was a devoted member of the Sealed Knot for many years.
