I was disappointed by the irrelevant bluster that Dr Mullan threw at us as justification for his voting to allow water companies to dump raw sewage onto our rivers and on to our beaches.
Under current laws many water companies have been fined for just this practice.
Crewe and Nantwich MP saying voting for a change to a planned Environment Bill outlawing sewage dumping is not financially practical.
Dr Kieran Mullan hit back at critics who blasted him and other Tory MPs who voted against a bid to amend the Bill to stop water companies dumping sewage in streams and rivers.

None of us likes the thought of sewage in our rivers and on our beaches. It’s disgusting to look at, smelly and unhygienic.
It appears, however, that our MP, Keiran Mullan, disagrees with that, and presumably thinks that raw sewage in our rivers and coastal waters isn’t that bad.
Villagers say they have been fighting for authorities to fix blocked drains which have flooded their pothole-ridden road for almost four years.
Families on Hilbre bank in Alpraham say Cheshire East Council and water companies have not carried out essential repairs on a section of the route.
