Wheelyboat Services based at a marina near Nantwich has been awarded The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services.
It is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work done in their communities.
The Overwater Wheelyboat is due to launch on The Shropshire Union Canal this week.
The boat, to operate from the Overwater Marina near Nantwich, will provide free trips to disabled children and adults.
A marina in Nantwich will soon be hosting free boat trips and water activities for disabled and mobility impaired residents.
The Overwater Wheelyboat Project aims to buy a specially-built boat with wheelchair, walking frame and walking stick access for people.
