A new season of stand up comedy in Nantwich got off to a rip-roaring start at the civic centre this weekend.
A packed audience was treated to three very different comedians during the three-hour show, all linked together by the ‘with it’ comedian Vince Atta.
First up was veteran of the circuit John Moloney, with his unique brand of dry wit and cutting observation. His hilarious social commentary on keeping animals had the crowd in stitches.
Then the star of the show, Steve Shanyaski, demonstrated why he is seen as one of the top new stand-ups of his generation.
Lancastrian Steve’s energetic, action-packed set had the audience rolling in the aisles, with his take on relationships leaving most of us nodding in recognition while clutching our aching sides.
The outrageous Martin Mor had a tough act to follow as he came on to finish the show.
For some, the Irishman’s brand of blue comedy and focus on audience members was a little too contrived at times, but there were enough classic one liners and comebacks to entertain.
Overall, the promoters will be delighted at another highly successful event with more to follow over the next few months.
