Fire crews spent several hours battling a chimney blaze at a pub near Nantwich last night (April 10).
The fire broke out in a second floor fireplace at The Badger Inn, on Nantwich Road, Church Minshull at around 5pm.
Crews initially fought the blaze using hand appliances, but then had to bring in a hydraulic platform to fight it from above the chimney.
Police had to close the road for a short while for safety reasons.
One hose reel jet was used to cool the temperature of the chimney, while firefighters removed a large amount of nesting material.
By 9pm, crews using a thermal imaging camera to ensure temperatures were down to a safe level. They left the scene shortly before 10pm.
