Hundreds of Crewe Alex fans from across South Cheshire flocked to Gresty Road to glimpse the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Nantwichnews editor Pete Leydon (pictured) joined supporters young and old who packed out the club shop during a special promotion of the JPT Final against Southend on April 7.

Crewe boss Steve Davis and a host of first team players like Mathias Pogba, Mark Ellis, and Matt Tootle were also there to mingle with fans and pose for picture opportunities.

Shavington musician Tom Seals was also there to play a few tunes.

The visit was organised by Johnstone’s Paints, the sponsors of the trophy, who gave away free goodies.

Crewe Alex sponsor Whitby Morrison were also present, dishing out free ice cream!

At one point, fans broke into song to hail popular striker Pogba during the session held between 3pm and 6pm yesterday (March 27).

The shop also did a roaring trade in merchandise as supporters get ready for the big trip to Wembley.

“It was a great atmosphere for our visit to Gresty Road, really busy,” said a spokeswoman for Johnstone’s Paints.

“And it was great to see so many younger fans coming in as well.”

Nantwich mum Suzanne Boughey, from Stapeley, took her two young sons down to the event.

“They had a great time posing with the trophy,” she said. “Thanks for organising this.

Johnstone’s Paint also donated two Wembley match tickets to Crewe Alex goalkeeper Steve Phillips so he could auction them off for the Caudwell Children charity.

Everyone at Nantwichnews wishes Crewe Alex luck for the Wembley final.
