It is now one of the UK’s largest in-town food festivals, and organisers promise to set the town’s taste buds alive with a record 175 stalls in marquees.

Cheshire’s finest will be on show alongside guests from the rest of the UK and as far afield as the Middle East.

Visitors can tuck in to samples provided by some of the country’s best global street food traders.

Sixty food producers will welcome visitors to The Mornflake Gourmet Food Hall, with specialist craft beers, exclusive Champagne, cocktails, street food and more.

Deborah Robb, Nantwich Food Festival Chair, said: “The festival gets bigger and better every year and that is due to the incredible hard work and commitment of the volunteers and the local community.

“Not only do we have some of the country’s and world’s best food producers, this is a festival where the fun is as fabulous as the feasting.

“There’s a real party atmosphere during the weekend and we’re excited that this will be a record year in terms of the quality and variety offered, and hopefully in the number of visitors we are able to welcome to our town.”

The Nantwich Food Festival is free, with special events also taking place for younger visitors, including a circus skills workshop and a children’s cooking workshop.

Reaseheath College Pavillion will return with its mechanical horse and Patricia the cow, and South Cheshire College will unveil a new ‘South Cheshire Walk’ in the Town Square.

The festival started in 1995 with a few traders in Nantwich Civic Hall.

Nantwich Town Council took over the festival and moved it to Mill Island for 10 years when visitor numbers reached around 6,000.

It was handed over to the not-for-profit Nantwich Food and Drink Ltd in 2009 and moved from Mill Island to the town centre to allow stallholders and local businesses to work together.

In 2013, it attracted 35,000 visitors, netting approximately £2m for local business and stall holders, In 2014, 40,000 visitors came to Nantwich for the Festival.
