Care home inspectors probe Brookfield House after Roy Tomlinson tragedy

National care home inspectors have been sent in to Brookfield House care home in Nantwich after dementia sufferer Roy Tomlinson walked out and disappeared for a week.

The 83-year-old was found dead in an outbuilding off Wellington Road, just a few hundred yards from the home on Shrewbridge Road.

An extra 70 police officers will be recruited to Cheshire Police under new budget plans which will see a rise in council tax bills.

Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner John Dwyer has agreed a 3.2% increase in the police precept – equivalent to around 10p per week.

Man’s body found in hunt for missing Nantwich pensioner Roy Tomlinson

The body of a man believed to be missing pensioner Roy Tomlinson has been found in the outbuilding of a house in Wellington Road, Nantwich.

Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene at around 10.50am today (February 2) – a week after the 83-year-old went missing from Brookfield House care home.
