A new exhibition called “Pathways” has opened at Nantwich Museum.
It is a textile art exhibition by “Connected Threads”, the stitching group of South Cheshire Embroiderers Guild.
It is being staged in the Your Space Gallery at the Pillory Street venue and will run until Saturday September 1.
“Connected Threads” is a local group of non professional textile artists who enjoy creating artwork using a variety of techniques based in stitch.
Some of the work is traditional, but others involve working with paint, paper, metal, found objects and recycled ephemera.
The group is united in a passion for stitched textile art and the joy of sharing ideas, encouraging creativity and building friendships through stitch.
Entry to the museum and exhibition is free and some of the artwork is for sale.
Meanwhile, the museum has released details of summer workshops for youngsters.
“Weaving About” workshops on August 15 and 16 will be focused around the wildlife of the River Weaver and activities will include making models and pictures.
Theme of workshops on August 22 and 23 will be “Costa del Museo”. Crafts and activities will be holiday and beach related.
All workshops run from 11am to 3pm.
The cost is £2 per child and large groups must book in advance. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Guides to Welsh Row are now available from the museum shop and are designed to complement the museum’s summer exhibition “Welsh Row Through the Ages”.
They would provide a useful accompaniment to families planning their own excursions along Welsh Row.
