Drivers warned over Crewe Road closure delays in Nantwich

Motorists are being warned of delays in Nantwich as Crewe Road is to close for most of this weekend as part a Nantwich highway improvement scheme.

Cheshire East Highways say they will enforce a full road closure to upgrade the zebra crossing on Crewe Road on September 15 and 16.

Nantwich firm team up for Tough Mudder fund-raising challenge

A Nantwich electronic component firm has helped raise almost £500 for a hospice by tackling the gruelling Tough Mudder North West challenge.

Four staff from Gateway Electronic Components on Beam Heath Way took part in the event at Cholmondeley Castle over a 10-mile course and 20 obstacles to raise funds for Hope House Children’s Hospices.

Nantwich Museum “Contours and Colours” exhibition opens

A new exhibition called “Contours and Colours in Paint and Print” by Margaret Gill and Barbara Barlow has opened at Nantwich Museum.

It features oil and acrylic paintings and hand-crafted reduction linocuts based on ancient Japanese art, similar to woodcut images.

Featuring the Jedburgh (Scotland) Royal British Legion Pipes and Drums, The Cheshire Constabulary Band and Corps of Drums accompanied by International Mezzo Soprano Emma Brown.

Two masked men armed with a baseball bat and machete attacked a couple in their own home in Crewe, Cheshire Police said.

The incident, being treated as an aggravated burglary, happened when the offenders broke in and demanded money from the couple in Remer Street.
