A young motorcyclist has died following a road traffic collision near Nantwich last night (July 14).
The accident involved a motorbike and a lorry on the A51 London Road at Bridgemere.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 19-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the HGV, a 35-year-old man, was uninjured.
Officers investigating the fatal collision are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Inspector Anton Sullivan said: “As part of our ongoing enquiries, we would like to speak to any witnesses who may have seen what happened in the lead up to the collision, or the incident itself.
“We are asking people to please check their dashcam or CCTV footage for anything which may aid our investigation.”
Paramedics from North West Ambulance Service and West Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene last night.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival ambulance staff found a motorcyclist who had been involved in a very serious collision with a lorry.
“Sadly, nothing could be done to save the rider and he was confirmed deceased on scene.
“The lorry driver was assessed but was uninjured.”
