Firefighters from Nantwich were called out to tackle a rubbish fire on Cheerbrook Road, Willaston. Crews extinguished the fire using one hose reel shortly before 10am today (November 7). The cause is being investigated.
Nantwich Town will be boosted by an international call-up for MK Dons defender Gary MacKenzie, who misses their FA Cup 1st round encounter. Breaking news… A lorry driver was killed when his HGV ploughed off a bridge over a Cheshire motorway and landed on the carriageway. Cheshire Police and other emergency services are at the scene on the M56, which comes three days after Britain’s worst motorway pile-up on the M5.

Rail travellers between Nantwich and Crewe were delayed today after an accident at Willaston level crossing. Police had to close the rail line temporarily after the accident involving a lorry at the crossing at around 4pm on November 2.
