The annual ‘Battle of Nantwich & Winter Fayre’ has been cancelled by the Covid pandemic, organisers have confirmed.
The Holly Holy Day annual event normally takes place on the final weekend of January, and is one of the biggest one-day events in the town.

Five per cent of Cheshire East residents have already had their first doses of the Covid-19 vaccination, according to Cheshire East Council leader Sam Corcoran.
In his update on CEC’s standing in the pandemic today (January 15), Cllr Corcoran said the vaccination programme is “going well”.

A new shared vision “for children and young people in Cheshire East” has been formally endorsed by the borough’s cabinet.
The vision includes aims such as making “families and communities strong, welcoming and supportive, where differences are celebrated”.
Councillors could be forced to remove town centre benches in Nantwich amid fears too many people are not following Covid lockdown guidelines.
The concerns were discussed tonight (January 14) by Nantwich Town Council, after residents and traders raised fears about lack of social distancing.
