Another controversial housing scheme near Nantwich is to go to public inquiry after it was kicked out by Cheshire East planners. Gladman’s proposal for 300 homes on land at “Witter’s Fields” in Wistaston was rejected after scores of objections were lodged.
Volunteers working for Nantwich Litter Group are back in action to help tidy up the town over the next two weeks. The group is staging two “picks” in various areas of the town, and is appealing for more people to get involved.

Busy Welsh Row in Nantwich is to be closed for up to two weeks for major works on a collapsed sewer. The closure will be from its junction with Waterlode to its junction with Taylor Drive.
