A 27-year-old man is being questioned over the death of Nantwich dad Neil Shoane on the A530 road near Aston.

Neil, 44, is alleged to have been struck by a vehicle which left the scene as he walked home from Nantwich to Aston on Sunday July 2.

Developers renovating the former Nantwich Methodist Church believe arsonists sparked the fire which ripped through the top of the building last night.

The blaze broke out at around 9pm in the Grade II Listed building on Hospital Street where work is underway to turn the old Wesleyan chapel into luxury apartments.
