A “Summer Celebration” held in Wistaston has helped to raise several hundred pounds for Diabetes UK.
Visitors enjoyed strawberries & cream, cakes, jams & chutneys, home-made breads, and home-made cards at the event in St Mary’s Church hall.

Work started today on repairing the ‘Church Lane chasm’ sink-hole in Wistaston – more than two weeks after it first appeared.
Cheshire East Council highways teams arrived on scene to begin the repairs after the sink-hole emerged on June 26.

Police and highways engineers were called out at a collapsed section of the road, “probably caused by drainage”.

Hundreds of families enjoyed the annual Wistaston Village Fete.
The event, organised by the Wistaston Community Council, took place at Wistaston Church Lane Academy and featured a wide range of entertainment.

Ellie Newbrook, a Young Leader at the Wistaston Scout Group, came up with the idea to boost funds for the group’s new base.
