Highways bosses at Cheshire East Council have finally admitted there are “issues” with the surface dressing along the A500 Shavington Bypass.

It follows hundreds of complaints from motorists about loose gravel smashing windscreens and denting vehicles since the works were done last summer.

Nantwich rural schools are becoming over-subscribed but a new primary school which should have opened in September 2024 and was delayed for a year still hasn’t been built.

Planning permission was granted in June 2023 for the new 210-pupil Kingsbourne Academy on the Kingsley Fields development.
