Work is being stepped up to clear gullies across parts of Cheshire East that were hit by flooding this summer.
Paul Traynor, head of highways at Cheshire East Council, told councillors two more gully clearing machines are being used in an attempt to clear as many grids as possible by the end of the year.
Storm Aileen blew through South Cheshire overnight, causing trees to fall and roads to flood.

Cheshire East Council highways teams have to close three roads due to floods today (January 4), including Windmill Lane in Buerton near Nantwich, and Maw Lane and Gresty Lane in Crewe.
A busy route in and out of Nantwich is now closed for eight weeks as major drainage works get under way. Wellington Road is now closed off between Station Road and Parkfield Drive.
A councillor has welcomed plans to reduce flooding in the village of Willaston, near Nantwich. Areas of the village, such as Coppice Road, have been badly hit by floods in recent years.
