A pension fund with almost 100,000 members across Cheshire said it is reviewing its investments in a Russian bank due to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine.

The Cheshire Pension Fund is used by Cheshire West and Chester, Cheshire East, Warrington and Halton councils, Cheshire Police, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and more than 200 other organisations across the county including schools, colleges and parish councils.

Council bosses and Crewe & Nantwich MP have welcomed more than £14 million funding for Crewe from the Government’s Future High Streets Fund.

Unpaid carers in Crewe and Nantwich given funding boost

Crewe and Nantwich residents who act as unpaid carers for a loved one can now access up to £500 from a new fund set up to pay for breaks.

The new Carers’ Living Well Fund, launched on November 1, is a joint initiative by Cheshire East Council, NHS Eastern Cheshire and NHS South Cheshire clinical commissioning groups.
