A new interactive map reveals more than 700 abandoned cars were removed by councils in Cheshire and the North West in 2017/18 – averaging two per day – costing councils almost £42,000.

Police hunt metal thieves after South Cheshire scrapyard raid
Metal thieves broke into a South Cheshire scrapyard and stole more than £30,000 of goods, escaping with it in the company’s truck. Detectives want help from anyone who saw the break in at Houstons and Sons in Crewe, or the stolen Houstons wagon spotted on the M6 towards Birmingham (pictured).
