Cheshire East Council could decline the use of two major town centre car parks during next Nantwich Food Festival, councillors have been warned.
A three-year contract between the authority and festival committee for use of Love Lane and Bowling Green car parks during the three-day festival has now expired.
Nantwich residents face a 7.5% hike in their town council portion of the council tax bill – to help fund new initiatives like a new Town Ranger.
The authority also wants to increase council tax to bump up its reserves to a projected £193,000.
Nantwich Town Council and British Legion will be staging a Remembrance Service in Nantwich Town Centre this Sunday, November 10.
The service will be led by Rev. Dr Mark Hart, of St Mary’s Church in Nantwich.
Residents in South Cheshire are being asked to air views during a review of town and parish council boundaries across Cheshire East.

Travellers on the Barony Park again
The end of July not only brought with it an abundance of rain, sufficient to cause the cancellation of the Nantwich show, but also the ninth unauthorised encampment on the Barony Park this year.
Club and Society members from across South Cheshire will take part in the annual Societies Spectacular in Nantwich town square this weekend.
The annual event will be held between 9am and 2pm on Saturday (July 20) to show off the range of activities taking place locally.
