Reaseheath College equine students in Nantwich are riding high after coming fourth in an inter college competition.

Charlotte Firman, Rebecca Humphries, Alex Jefferies and Kirsty Leach competed against teams from seven other leading land-based colleges.

The competition, which covers dressage, showjumping and an equestrian quiz, was held at Warwickshire College, with the students competing on horses they had not ridden before.

Overall marks were so close, the Reaseheath team were just one point behind three teams which tied jointly for first place.

The girls, all studying Level 3 Extended Diploma in Horse Management at the Nantwich college, were trained and accompanied by instructors Louise Challenger and Sam Brentnall.

Sam said: “The girls did really well in the competition and were fantastic ambassadors for the college.

“These events are a great opportunity for our students to show off their riding skills and knowledge as well as meet students with the same interests from other colleges.”
