Organisers of the Nantwich Food & Drink Festival have issued an appeal for more volunteers for this year’s event.
With more activities planned, the committee now needs more help from willing workers in the town.
A new addition to the festival this year is a busy schools programme on the Friday (September 6) and they are looking for extra hands to run cooking sessions.
They are also need people who can steward food marquees across the town and work with visiting traders to keep everyone in order, the area safe and help monitor the visitors.
“We also need guides and hosts who can direct people so they find out what is on and where it is happening,” said festival chairman Deborah Robb.
“We need people who don’t mind what they do and who can help us litter pick and clear up. Not every job is glamorous but they are all just as important and we try to give everyone a varied time.
“Help is required from early Friday through to Sunday evening, and in half day chunks.
“Working as a volunteer is brilliant on your CV if you are still working or wanting to work and if you are retired gives you a real buzz,” she added.
“Every year at least one of our volunteers has got a permanent job as a result of working with us.”
Festival organisers have arranged a volunteers training event and supper where willing helpers can get together to learn essential health and safety and roles on August 28.
The festival runs over three days from September 6 to 8. For more details visit www.nantwichfoodfestival.co.uk
