bin - Cheshire East bin collections

Bin collection days in Crewe and Nantwich are set to change from November, Cheshire East Council has announced.

They say stickers will be fixed to bins during collections over the next few weeks to give notice of changes from November 4.

New collection calendars will be posted to households from October 21, advising that bins must be present by 6.30am for collection from November 4.

The council says most residents will be affected by the changes with a few having their collection days remain the same.

These alterations are aimed at “maximising efficiency” and “to deliver best value”, according to the authority.

Changes to recycling and waste collections will take effect from November 4.

Between December 23 and January 3, there will be no garden waste bin collections.

Residents with recycling or waste bins due to be emptied on Christmas and New Year bank holidays, should check the new calendars as collection days will change.

Cllr Brian Roberts, Cheshire East Council cabinet member for highways and waste, said: “The council is committed to improving the recycling and waste collection service for residents.

“These changes will allow our vehicle rounds to make our bin collections more efficient.”

From January 2020, a new food waste collection service will be introduced.

Full details of this will be announced in the next few months.

Information and reminders about the changes will feature on Cheshire East Council’s social media pages.

  1. I agree with Keith Kirkham, it will only be confusion, followed by a council tax rise to cover the costs of doing it, plus the council will stop emptying the green bins over winter , but due to mild winters now everything keeps growing, this needs to change to all year round.

  2. Yes I agree with Geoffrey, They take your bin off your drive and then leave it on the road ,its dam right lazy or they do it on purpose to wind you up, I bet they put there own back were they find it

  3. If the bins are out earlier do you think that the bin wagon drivers may slow down.and adhere to the rules of the road!

  4. Keith Kirkham says:

All this change can mean only 2 things.
Confusion and council tax rises to cover the cost.

  5. Geoffrey Stockton says:

Can you please get the bin men to put the bins where they found them
