The South West Cheshire District Scouts campsite now has two new activity buildings which were unveiled.

Orphaned otter cub nursed back to health by Nantwich RSPCA centre

An otter cub, just days old, is recovering at the Stapeley Grange RSPCA wildlife centre in Nantwich after being found all on her own with no mum nearby.

The little otter, named Bramble by staff, was found by a member of the public with her eyes still closed and suffering from hypothermia next to the Menai Strait, in Bangor.

Cheshire East wheelie bin £30 charge goes ahead after call in rejected

A charge for new and replacement wheelie bins will hit Nantwich and Crewe residents next month after a request to look again at the scheme was rejected.

From October, Cheshire East residents will be faced with a £30 charge for the standard 240-litre recycling, black residual waste or garden waste bin, or £25 for a smaller 140-litre bin.

A housing development in the heart of Crewe which was previously deemed “not worthy” of the town has been approved at the second attempt.

Countryside Properties has been given the green light to demolish unused buildings at the Bombardier site in West Street – along with the historic boundary wall – and build 239 homes and 24 flats in their place.
